Domain Expiration Monitor Template

The Domain Expiration Monitor Template enables you to monitor the expiration date of any publicly registered domain. This template is typically used to notify website administrators when a website domain registration is near the expiration date (e.g. yourdomain.com expires in 30 days) so they can renew the domain prior to the registration expiring.

How to configure the Domain Expiration Monitor Template:

  • From the Menu Bar, select File | New. The Create New Object View displays.
  • From the Create New Object View, expand Templates | Network and Application Monitors then select Domain Expiration Monitor. The New Template Properties View displays.
  • The Template Properties view contains 3 tabs.

The Options Tab

  • Use the Server drop-down to select the domain you would like to monitor.
    Alert Specify the domain (e.g. yourdomain.com) rather than the sub-domain (e.g. www.yourdomain.com) to monitor.
    Information Once selected, the server is automatically assigned to this template.
  • Use the Whois server drop-down to select the Whois server to scan.
    Information The list is pre-populated with several popular Whois servers. If the server you would like to scan is not listed, type the server address then press Enter.
  • Use the Search keys drop-down to assign each expiration key to search for.
    Information The list is pre-populated with numerous popular keys. If the key you would like to search for is not listed, type the key then press Enter.
  • Use the Warning and Critical theshold controls to set the trigger thresholds.
  • Click the Test button to verify the template is configured property and the monitor executes as expected.
  • Finally, select the General Tab, then click the click the Auto-Generate Name Auto Generate Name Button button to auto-generate a name based on the configured settings.
